Football legends Roberto Di Matteo, Gianfranco Zola and Claudio Pizarro recently visited The Royal Marsden, to meet patients and the staff who treated the late Gianluca Vialli, the iconic former Chelsea forward and manager.
On 9 September 2023, they will be taking part in the Legends of Europe football match at Chelsea FC to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Chelsea Foundation. The match will be played in memory of the late Gianluca Vialli, who was treated at The Royal Marsden.
During their visit they learnt how funds raised from the Legends match this September will make a difference to the lives of cancer patients both at the hospital and around the world. They spoke to the team who treated Gianluca Vialli at The Royal Marsden about the importance of funding developments in treatment and research. They also chatted to staff and patients who were excited to meet the legends!
