I am not convinced the decibels are super accurate in terms of the levels; but the main thing is you can see the upgrades had an affect on lowering the noisy heater - it cannot do much about the unit noise; ours is a big boy 5kw unit too.

When I tested the decibels it was with an app on my phone called Decibel meter and I probably had it too close at 50cm; but I kept it in the same place each time for comparison. In hindsight I probably would review it at shoulder height next time as i'd hope nobody would be laying on the floor listening to my diesel heater - but that was the uniform method I chose to use.

There are few other different designs on the market for both the diesel heater exhaust and intake filter, I chose these ones (especially the muffler) as they seemed like quality upgrades on paper and have made the overall unit quieter.
