Caddx Walksnail Goggles X - Analog input update

Описание к видео Caddx Walksnail Goggles X - Analog input update

Note: Recent comments have highlighted that it isn't clear what I am testing/demonstrating, and that some people dont watch the original video (   • Caddx Walksnail Goggles X - Analog in...  ) before writing an angry comment on the update video.

I have no antennas on the analog receiver module. And the quad is in PIT MODE. Both of these things are intentional, because I am trying to simulate what happens when you fly far away, to the edge of your video reception. If i had antennas on the receiver, it would get decent video reception even with the quad is in pit mode, unless it was 2-3m away (longer than my arms reach). If i didn't have the quad in pit mode I would have to put it 100m away to replicate the low signal we see when we fly far away. All i want to see is what would happen when i fly behind a building maybe 100-200m away, without actually flying behind a building 200m away. Its a SIMULATION of low video signal.

I am also not trying to compare the video receiver output with the analog monitor on my desk (note that has antennas on it). That is just there to prove i have a quad connected. The only thing i am trying to show is what the GOGGLES do when signal is low. On previous firmware, it would flip to a fake snow screen, where you cant even see shadows in the weak video signal. Old analog monitors used to flip to a blue screen when this happens. And now analog monitors typically have a note "No blue screen" as a selling point.

Caddx has since released this fix in the latest beta firmware: 37.42.7

This firmware shows a blue screen when no analog module is connected - but rest assured, once a module is connected it will show the video signal all the way down to pure snow. If you fly with an analog module on your Goggles X, this firmware should be considered mandatory. You also get image brightness/contrast adjustment via the 5direction joystick.

There are still some outstanding issues:
1. Sometimes the analog video is completely blown out, white in the goggles. When this happens you need to replug your quad and it will usually be resolved. Its something to do with the auto adjustment that the goggles do, and I have told Caddx about this.
2. Speedybee, Foxeer Wildfire, URUAV RX5808 EVO modules still do not work with the AV input. This is a hardware limitation according to Caddx and the only solution for these goggles is to use them via HDMI input (   • Caddx Walksnail Goggles X solution fo...  ). But unfortunately that brings back the blue screen on low video signal...
