Sea Trial performed of “Asia’s 1st New Built SOV” for Greater Changhua Wind Farms in Taiwan

MOL and Ta Tong Marine Co., Ltd. achieved a milestone of conducting the sea trial for 6 days from 20th Jan 2022 of a new service operation vessel (SOV), under construction at a shipyard in Vietnam owned by VARD Group A/S. The SOV was constructed through Ta San Shang Marine Co., Ltd., a joint company of MOL and Ta Tong Marine. Asia’s first newly-built SOV is planned to be named as “TSS Pioneer“. She will be time-chartered to Ørsted for 15 years from spring 2022 and when the vessel goes into service, she will support the operations and maintenance of the Greater Changhua 1 & 2a Offshore Wind Farms operated by Ørsted. TSS Pioneer and its crewmembers are to will play an important role in supplying clean energy to Taiwanese households.
