A talk delivered by American conductor Markand Thakar at the BCO Winter Conducting Workshop, Baltimore, MD, December 2014 (www.thebco.org/conducting). Thakar, author of "Looking for the 'Harp' Quartet: An Investigation into Musical Beauty (University of Rochester Press, 2011)" was a protege of Sergiu Celibidache. He is music director of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and co-director of Graduate Conducting at the Peabody Conservatory.
