Sariyer is a district located on the European side of Istanbul. It is surrounded by the districts of Besiktas in the south, Kagithane in the southwest and Eüp in the west, the Bosphorus in the east and the Black Sea in the north.
Sariyer district consists of 35 neighborhoods in total. It is one of the northernmost districts of Istanbul, which took its final form after the Bahçeköy Municipality was dissolved in 2009 and became a neighborhood of the Sariyer district, and in 2012 the districts of Ayazaga, Maslak and Huzur, which were located within the borders of Sisli, were included in this district.
