Trans-Himalayan Expedition to Umling La Pass, elevation 19,024 ft. Umling La Pass now holds the Guinness World Record for the highest motorable pass in the world. In the first phase, we used two vehicles from Himachal Pradesh; in the second phase, we used another two vehicles from Leh, the Indian Territory of Ladakh. A total of seven participants from Mumbai, ranging in age from 25 to 68, participated in this expedition.

On our expedition, we traversed 3,000 km. and covered 10 high passes in the Great Himalayas in 18 days.

In this expedition, we covered: Chamba Valley, Pangi Valley, Lahaul Valley, Nubra Valley, Shyok Valley, Siachen Glacier Base Camp, Changthang, Pangong Lake, Umling La Pass,Tso Moriri Lake.

From day 13 to 14: we travelled from Man Pangong Tso to Merak, Chusul, Rezang La war memorial, Tsaka La, Loma Bridge, Hanle, Nurbula Top, Chisumle Bridge, Umling La and back to Hanle village. We covered a distance of approximately 300 kilometers in two days.
