Learn how to subtract a cavity and split a mold using basic multibody tools in SOLIDWORKS. The Insert Part feature is used to insert the original part into a stock model. The Combine feature is used to subtract the original part from the stock. Then, the Split feature is used to separate two halves of a stock model.

More complex splits can also be performed by creating surfaces to be used in the Split feature.
