EXPEDITION: ROMAN FIELDS Part IV /// My metal detecting finds at CORINIUM MUSEUM & AMPHITHEATRE 🤩

Описание к видео EXPEDITION: ROMAN FIELDS Part IV /// My metal detecting finds at CORINIUM MUSEUM & AMPHITHEATRE 🤩

Hello again! (And if you’re new - welcome!) To round up my 3-day metal detecting adventure to Roman fields in the UK (check out the EXPEDITION: ROMAN FIELDS films parts I, II and III!), I took my ancient coins and artefacts finds along to the ancient provincial capital of Cirencester, then known as Corinium.

See the context of these objects amongst other similar (and in some cases identical) finds at the AMAZING Corinium Museum. Set amongst Roman mosaics and columns, 2000 year old ceramic pottery, militaria and jewellery I share what I learned about the history of these tiny objects I’ve been finding.

Step inside an amphitheatre and be transported back to 1-5 century AD. What a way to round up an incredible detectorist’s trip!

/// Part 4 of a NEW multi-part film discovering further clues on my incredible Roman fields permission.

I just ended my first year as a beginner in metal detecting with a NEW road trip to Roman territory! I’m getting to to know the history of this land through finds. My usual mix of history, nature, outdoors and searching. 😊

What to do next - WATCH Parts I, II & III to see these Roman finds emerge from the earth.

A bit about me:

Not your average bloke in camo..

Hello! I’m Ellie, English female detectorist, beachcomber, mudlark and artist. 🇬🇧 Follow my searching journey metal detecting the UK countryside and shoreline, as I learn about British history through objects.

Have I found any treasure? Well - I’ve really been putting in the time, and in my first year of detecting I have collected Roman artefacts, old gold, hammered coins and medieval finds. But the REAL treasure is in the stories each object tells about people and places. Sometimes it’s the mystery objects that I love best - cracking the code of time with plenty of help from my team of trusty subscribers!
