Theyyam: In conversation with performer Madhu Panikkar

Madhu Panikkar is a young Theyyam performer from the Malayan community. In this conversation with Jayaram Poduval, Madhu speaks about the informal training he received from his father and how he gained further knowledge from observation and assisting other performers. He discusses the exclusive rights to perform exercised by different communities in specific areas. He is also optimistic about the new generation’s growing interest in Theyyam.
