What Is Vovinam

This is a compilation made to give a good view of what the martial art ''vovinam viet vo dao'' offers, in terms of complete skills concerning self defense, fighting and acrobatics.

The Vovinam (or Vovinam Viet Vo Dao) was created in 1938 in Vietnam by master Nguyen Loc. It was thought as a sort of what we call today ''MMA'', mixed martial art : a combination of different traditionnal vietnamese martial arts including self defense, grappling and keys, boxing and kicking with fists/hands/feet,/elbows and knees ; multiple projections, defense and using of weapons like stick, saber, etc.). As a consequence, it's one of the most complete martial arts that exist.

Its moto is ''Hand of steal and a compassionate heart'', it shows the philosophy of this art, thought to form the ''real man''. Symbol is the bambou : strength and flexibility
