• Around the time when the Berlin Wall came down I was serving 100 hours of community service for doing graffiti in skate ditch behind the K-Mart near my apartment. I always thought it was lame that I got busted for that since it was in a place that no one sees except other skaters anyway. At the sentencing, the K-Mart people said that my handiwork was devaluing their customers shopping experience… as if any experience had in that shit heap was worth more than flies and vapors in the first place. Ironically, people in West Berlin were fighting over chunks of the wall with the most paint on them since they would be the most recognizable and therefore the most valuable. I think you can buy chunks of it these days at blue light special prices. What a world...
