At the Bench: Using the ARRI WCU-4 with ALEXA SXT Plus and Prime Lenses

The SXT is the third generation of ALEXA from ARRI. This blog concentrates on the wireless capabilities of the SXT Plus. The Plus has electronics for wireless lens functions built in, so motors and cables are all you need to build the camera.

ARRI has pre-programed lens information for some of the most popular lenses into the camera. Connecting to the WCU-4 handset is simply a matter of locating the desired lens file in the camera's menus; the data is then sent to the WCU-4. Ian demonstrates this with both LDS and non-LDS lenses. Watch the video above as he shows the WCU-4's lens functionality, as well as its ability to monitor and change critical camera settings.
