On the evening of March 20, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, a distressing incident occurred when a group of tourists travelling from Solitaire on the C19 road found themselves in a precarious situation. Their vehicle became stranded in the turbulent waters of the Tsondap River, which was experiencing high water levels due to recent rainfall. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, C14 Recovery Services promptly responded by deploying its team to the scene. Despite facing severe weather conditions and the challenges posed by the raging floodwaters, the dedicated recovery team worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the trapped tourists. Their efforts were commendable as they navigated the cold, swift currents to reach those in danger, ultimately securing the tourists and bringing them to safety just in time to prevent the vehicle from being swept away. In addition to rescuing the individuals, C14 Recovery also successfully recovered the stranded vehicle, overcoming various obstacles throughout the process. Their professionalism and determination played a crucial role in averting a potentially disastrous outcome. As the Tsondap River continues to flow at a high rate, we strongly advise travellers to avoid this area and seek safer, alternative routes for their journeys.
