HEDP - Is supposed to produce explosively formed penetrator (as in HEAT warhead, but smaller) and also damage soft targets by sheer explosive power and fragmentation, that's why it's high-explosive, dual-purpose.
In game it's good against infantry, cars, buildings, and probably can damage light armor.

HP - Shaped charge, damages armor, most of the energy is directed at launching the jet to punch through it or at least create small to damage the crew. Damages armor and its crew, has lesser damaging radius. (Does more damage than the HEAT).

The objective of this test was to see what an AT-4 (HEDP & HP) does to a T-72 B3.
