Lags and Lead Times - Microsoft Project Professional

Описание к видео Lags and Lead Times - Microsoft Project Professional

This video is about how to apply leads and lags in a project schedule using Microsoft Project Professional.
Lag in project scheduling can be defined as the delay of a successor activity. It represents the time that must pass before the second activity can begin. It can be used in activities will all the predecessor-successor relationship types, i.e. start-to-start, finish-to-finish, finish-to-start and start-to-finish.

Lead is the acceleration of a successor activity; the successor activity can begin and be executed while the predecessor activity is ongoing. It can only be found in activities which have a finish-to-start relationship.
Leads and lags are an important component of the process of activity sequencing when developing a project schedule.

According to Microsoft, when you add lead time to a task, work on that task overlaps work on its predecessor. When you add lag time, you delay the start time of the successor task.
