Kickstarter Scam, Goodday Sacramento Segment on 1/6/18.

I feel it necessary to preface the video in this way, THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE CAUSE, CHARITIES OR THE VICTIMS MENTIONED. They could have used elephant ivory, abused animals, or any number of sentiment wrenching causes as an impetus to take your money. I'm not trying to Thunderf00t this, but it IS ridiculous.

When I say in the heat of of the moment that the corporations already give more than that, I meant in terms of dollars. 20% of 0 is 0. Look at Thorn's Partner Page, Intel, Microsoft, etc. those are real donations, in real dollars, because they sell REAL products.

The Thumbnail Photo is of THE EXACT same bottle as seen in the segment, sitting on a woman's lap in a waiting room. No kickstarter campaign required. It has a black screw top and no Presh logo, big whoop.

First off, WHY ARE THERE TWO WHITE MEN TALKING ABOUT ABUSE TOWARDS WOMEN, where is the girlfriend? a woman of some kind? How are you going to come on, shill some standard water bottles and then cry for women's safety? IT MAKES NO SENSE.

It is one thing to start a business and use your donations to charity as a way to boost sales and build trust in the community. I think most people would agree with that. But, it is something entirely different to build a for-profit company around the exploitation of the misfortune of others. The numbers can be manipulated in such a way that the charities get little to nothing in the end, and seeing as there is NOTHING DIFFERENT about these water bottles, the sales will be restricted to people who THINK they are supporting these 5 charities.

Why would you as a donator want to have money filtered through these guys, Chinese manufacturers, through shipping and printing services, when you could just GIVE THE MONEY DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITIES??? Do you really need another water bottle, that, even they admit, is nothing different than is currently on the market for $10? A quick search on Ali express turned up an amazingly similar bottle in exactly the same colors for $4 a piece, with 1000 unit minimum, therefore based on THEIR own kickstarter money raised ($10,000+) they could have 2000 UNITS in inventory that they could sell RIGHT NOW, and be giving money to the 5 charities listed. This is a scam, pure and simple. Don't fall for it, and I'm not surprised, but disappointed that it made it onto the television. I'm willing to admit that its possible that the hearts were in the right place on the outset, but this is a simple scam.

Using the numbers provided by them for every $1000 they make $49 would go to each charity, and that's assuming 100% profit conversion which is not realistic. The charities will be very lucky to get $5-10 each when it's all said and done.

POINT OUT THESE SCAMS TO OTHERS, DO NOT LET SCAMS GO UNNOTICED.
