Narcissus King Alfred is a daffodil in the Group I of the Daffodil Classification (Trumpet Long-cupped daffodils), quite tall (over 60 cm), raised by John Kendall (England, UK) and registered before 1899. The seed parent is Maximums while the pollen parent is Emperor. The flowers are about 8-10 cm across, with bright yellow flowers and bright yellow corona, more intensely coloured than the tepals.
As usual for daffodils, the bulbs need to be planted in autumn in well drained soil, and the plant thrives in full sun or at least partial shade. In summer the foliage dies down and bulbs can either be lifted and divided, or left in place keeping them as dry as possible.
