Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Australia and neighbouring Oceanian countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report.

The video reviews Australia’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2021-2023 and 2022-2023.

Australia’s CPI score recorded an overall significant decline in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score steadily declining in 2012-2021 and subsequently made a small partial recovery in 2021-2023.

The rate of change in the country’s CPI score was worse than the rate of change in average Pacific Islands, Asia-Pacific and global CPI scores in 2012-2023 and 2018-2023.

Australia’s CPI score substantially exceeded average Pacific Islands, Oceania, Asia-Pacific and global CPI scores continuously throughout 2012-2023. #corruption #australia #asiapacific
