The Royal Family of Liechtenstein

The senior royal of one of the world's tiniest countries leads a multibillion-dollar dynasty that dates back almost 1,000 years and has survived wars, floods, and scandals. Today, the finance empire led by Liechtenstein's Prince Hans-Adam II is thriving in its primary field: handling money for the world's super-rich. His net worth was estimated to be around US$6.2 billion as of July 2022, making him the 380th richest person on the planet.

He did, however, place these assets in a family foundation, the Prince of Liechtenstein Foundation, from which each family member receives an equal annual allowance, and which maintains the family's castles, cultural assets, collections, and museums, as well as the costs of the princely court, including some salaries for princes who are ambassadors abroad, all of which are not a burden on the taxpayer. His successful business allowed him to repurchase sections of the family art collection, which his father had to sell after WWII owing to a lack of funds. Furthermore, he is continually adding to his collection of classical paintings and applied arts.

The Royal Family of Qatar

The House of Thani is the ruling family of Qatar, with origins tracing back to the Northern Arab Banu Tamim tribe. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is the Emir of Qatar, reigning since 2013. Qatar, headed by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is regarded as one of the wealthiest dynasties in the world. The 8,000-member family has a total net value of around $335 billion from sources other than its enormous natural resources. These investments include the Shard skyscraper in London, the Olympic Village, Harrods department store in London, and the Empire State Building in New York, as well as holdings in Barclays Bank and British Airways, and car manufacturer Volkswagen.

The Katara, one of the most expensive and massive mega-yachts in the world, is allegedly owned by The Emir and is known as the Floating Palace. Qatar's royal family also has authority over the skies. Qatar Amiri Flight was founded in 1977 as an elite airline that exclusively transports members of the country's royal family and prominent government officials. Following the hosting of perhaps the best World Cup in history, the Qatar Royal family is interested in acquiring a football club and has expressed interest in Manchester United.
