Upshot-Knothole Harry

The United States conducted Operation Upshot-Knothole, which included a nuclear weapons test called “Harry”. It occurred at 04:05 p.m. on May 19, 1953, at Yucca Flat at the Nevada Test Site. The test was sponsored by the United States National Laboratory, which is based in Los Alamos. The test bomb, dubbed Hamlet, exploded on top of a 300-foot tower. The device produced a yield of 32 kilotons. The device's diameter was 56 inches, and its length was 66 inches. It weighed 4 short tons. Ted Taylor designed the device at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States of America, and it stands out as the most efficient pure fission design with a yield of less than 100 kilotons ever tested. The design incorporated a revolutionary hollow core concept which was known as the "radical implosion system," and it aimed to reduce the amount of fissionable elements in the weapon's core while producing a reasonably high yield.

Groom Lake

Groom Lake is special because this is where the famed Area 51 is located, a place where numerous UFO aficionados have claimed to see aliens and alien spaceships.
