Budget vs Boutique Dovetail Saw

What happens when you take a $20 dovetail saw and spend the time to shape the teeth properly for dovetailing, then sharpen and set it well? How does that improved saw stack up against a $240 boutique made saw? My friend Shawn Graham did just this with a Crown saw and then sent it to me to put it head to head with some of my fanciest premium saws.
