Glen Sligachan - The Isle of Skye - Scotland

This was a short backpacking trip to the Isle of Skye to visit Glen Sligachan and view its wonderful mountains and get a feel for its remoteness.

We had hoped to stay at the Campsite but it was closed due to Covid so we were forced to move on and find a place to pitch further along the Glen.

Glen Sligachan is the last stage in the Skye Trail which would start at the Hotel and run down the Glen towards the coast then up and over cliff edge path towards Elgol then on to Torrin and finally Broadford. This was the route we initially planned to do but sadly with heat exhaustion, dehydration and a dodgy meal my health took a turn for the worst and with the weather changing and midge gallore we decided to turn back . Upon reflection it was probably the right thing to do as no one wants to spend days in a tent trapped by midges and poor weather. Enjoy.
