WASTELAND proposes a journey to the land of rubbish, an endless landfill, a city that never sleeps.

Night and day, big trucks get there and throw everything the first world has decided is not useful any more. Amongst the fumes and the dust of the waste, the "invisibles" come to life. They are trash collectors, dreams and hope hunters, beings who amongst the piles of trash look for a ticket that allows them to leave miseries behind.

Lluís Danés' new creation is a performance of visual theatre and puppets, poetic and forceful, built with objects that accumulate at big cities' landfills and that provide evidence of a society pattern full of paradoxes and contradictions.

WASTELAND is a bittersweet glance to the situation of thousands of poor people that struggle to survive between tones of rubbish; a journey to the dreams and desires of beings that —above all— love, dance, shout, laugh...and aim to build up a better future in which the sun comes out.
