David Robson and I spoke about reframing stress in a positive way on Episode 51 of the Reframe & Reset Your Career podcast, which is now available. David told me "a much better way of dealing with stress and anxiety is to start asking yourself, why did we evolve to have the stress response … the answer is that actually these are just all signs of physiological changes that were meant to improve performance. Your heart is racing because it's pumping lots of oxygenated blood around the body and especially to your brain, it's powering your thinking … these are the benefits of anxiety and stress in the short term and what researchers have found is actually just educating people about that, it can help to improve their performance … they're using the stress or the anxiety as a resource."
