Tired of having the bait stolen from the trap but no raccoon in it?

Try this simple trap modification.

Most raccoons can be caught in cage traps pretty easily when a nice sweet bait is offered.

Some raccoons have figured out cage traps though and are extremely careful. Forcing them to do some extra stepping around in the trap by sliding a blocking bar through will often get them to hit the trigger.
