PowerShell DSC - The Present and the Future

In This meetup we will look into the old DSC (Windows PowerShell 5.1) with Azure Automation DSC.

Also we take a look into the future of DSC with PowerShell 7 and Azure Guest Configuration DSC.

We have the guest speaker Gael Colas @gaelcolas. He is well known in the DSC Community and is a DSC Community Committee Member.

Speaker Constantin Hager:
In the first Talk I will give you a short summary on DSC and Azure Automation DSC.
Then we will deploy a DSC configuration through Azure Automation DSC
to a Windows Server Azure VM.
We will go over the Reporting functionality and some problems you might have.

Speaker Gael Colas:
Find out how Microsoft is using DSC on PowerShell 7 to manage VM configuration, cross platform, and reporting it into the Azure control plane!
We'll see how to create a GuestConfiguration package with the Guest Configuration module, how to make a policy with this package, and how to assign that policy to a VM and see it work.
