Assembly of Draw and Buff Gear | Shaku Coupler | Rolling Stock Workshop, Dahod | Western Railway

Indian Railways is very committed to safe and best quality rolling stock maintenance practice. One such task is assigned to Rolling Stock Workshop, Dahod. As the name suggest, the workshop is capable of carrying out POH for almost all kind of rolling stocks, say Loco, Wagon or Coaches.

The workshop also keep on innovating new tools and fixtures to make sure the quality and productivity both improves. This fixture for Draw and Buff gear assembly is designed and developed by workshop staff only. The hydraulic arrangement used in the fixture is de-rated CTRB extractor which was modified as per the fixtures requirements.

The fixture improved the overall productivity of the section and reliability also increased. For 1 buff gear arrangement total 3 manhour saving is observed.

The fixture is overall developed by CMRS with help of some other sections of workshop.
