Bangladesh News: Massive Protest In Gujarat’s Surat Over Atrocities Against Hindus In Bangladesh


Protests are taking place across the country against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Massive protest erupts in Surat's Gujarat as thousands rally against alleged atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Demonstrators demand minority protection, global attention, and strong diplomatic action from Indian government. The protests followed the mob lynching of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district. Dipu was beaten to death over alleged blasphemy on December 18, after which his body was hanged and set on fire. The incident sparked widespread outrage from political leaders, religious organisations and minority groups in Bangladesh & India. Meanwhile, on Monday Dhaka suspended visa services in New Delhi and its mission in Tripura, citing “unavoidable circumstances”. The move comes amid the fresh wave of unrest in Bangladesh over the death of student leader Sharif Osman Hadi last week.
