Pakistan's largest province, Baluchistan, has long faced militant insurgencies and terrorist activities. Recently, separatist groups like the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) have intensified attacks, targeting critical infrastructure, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). A major escalation occurred with the BLA’s hijacking of the Jaffar Express, where civilians were held hostage. Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralized the threat, but the incident underscores the urgent need for a stronger security strategy to prevent future attacks.

In this regard, the Centre for Law and Security (CLAS) held a webinar to discuss rising militancy and insurgency in Baluchistan. The webinar discusses how the state has been countering such terrorist activities and what viable options the state has to uproot this menace of terrorism.
