I want to preface today’s video by making one thing clear: There are no “weird” foods. There are foods that are different than what you are used to, but that does not make them somehow less valuable.

All food is valuable. That is why I try so hard not to waste food, and also to showcase the diversity in food that we as humans enjoy around the world. What one culture may find strange is commonplace to another— We all see the world through the lens of our own experience and upbringing, and it’s important to consider that when encountering new things.

My goal in including foods that are from cultures outside my own is to showcase them and help educate, both my viewers and myself, about food diversity. It is never to make fun of them or dishonor them. I try hard to be respectful, even when I don’t personally enjoy something— which is going to happen! We all have different tastes.

Please be respectful in the comments. If you cross the line and I see it, I will not hesitate to block you and remove the comment. There is no place for that here. Everyone is invited to have a piece of “The Sandwich.”
