Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said his Islamic Republic won't allow the "trampling" of human rights, following the killing of a 22-year-old woman for allegedly not wearing her hijab properly by the so-called "morality police."

He added the incident is still under investigation by authorities. Raisi also compared the incident to police brutality that occurs in Western nations like the U.S. and U.K.

Meanwhile, protests against Mahsa Amini’s death are continuing around the world. In Athens, Greece, members of the Iranian community and leftist groups scuffled with police outside the Iranian embassy on Thursday during a demonstration.

Angry protesters confronted, argued and pushed against riot police as they tried to approach closer to the embassy, being forced back by police officers yielding shields.

The demonstrators chanted slogans and held various placards reading, "Homophobia and sexism kill."

Protesters in Tehran and other Iranian cities torched police stations and vehicles on Thursday over the death of Amini, 22, who died last week after being arrested in Tehran for wearing "unsuitable attire." She fell into a coma while in detention. The authorities have said they would launch an investigation into the cause of her death.
