See Dr Philip Young analyze, select, and carve cartilage from the ear and septum. Dr Young discusses where the grafts are taken from the options that are considered. We usually 1.) first take cartilage frome the septum. This is readily available and the positive is that it is straight, strong and does not require another new place for surgery. The 2nd place is the ear. We show you where to take the grafts and how it will not affect the way your ears look. 3rd the next option is rib cartilage which tends to be a bigger surgery. 4th option includes cadaver cartilage.

The places we think of placing grafts are the tip, lateral crura cartilage, septum as a septal extension graft, spreader grafts that are placed along the dorsum to improve the airway or straighten and strengthen the dorsum or bridge of the nose, the alar rim, the columella, etc. We show you in the video where these places are that we consider cartilage grafting!
