The Supreme Commander-in-Chief visited the Yantar Baltic Shipyard, where he inspected the Gremyashchy corvette, in St. Petersburg

The President boarded the corvette, inspected its premises, and familiarized himself with the equipment and weapons systems. The commander of the Gremyashchy, Captain Second Rank Roman Dovgaylov, spoke about the features of operating the newest ship.

"Gremyashchiy" is the lead corvette of Project 20 385, laid down on February 1, 2012 and launched in June 2017 at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg. The corvettes of this project were developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau,They are designed to detect and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, ensure the landing of troops, and also solve various tasks in the near sea zone.

The Baltic Shipyard "Yantar" was founded on July 8, 1945. It specializes in the construction of small and medium-tonnage military and civilian vessels, as well as in ship repair work. Over 70 years, the plant has built 160 warships and more than 500 civilian vessels.
