China held its largest-ever military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, showcasing a significant leap in its military technology. The event featured the public debut of its nuclear triad, including the Dongfeng-5C and DF-61 intercontinental ballistic missiles. Also displayed were hypersonic anti-ship 'carrier killer' missiles, advanced stealth fighters like the J-20 and J-35, and a range of unmanned systems such as undersea drones and robotic dogs. President Xi Jinping, addressing the event, stated, "The Chinese nation is a great nation that does not fear violence, and that stands independent and strong." The parade was attended by several world leaders, including Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong-un, signalling a united front. The presence of Slovakia's Prime Minister, a member of NATO and the EU, was also noted.
