The Bonnot 4 Series extruders can be customized with different L/D (length/diameter, the ratio between the auger diameter and the barrel length.

A longer barrel offers more residence time, more heat soak and more shear. If this is not desirable for your material, you have the option to reduce the L/D.

In this video we'll be looking at how to shorten your L/D from a standard 4/1 to a custom 2/1. To complete this process, you will need a shorter auger and barrel for your new setup.
