OVERVIEW
1 "telepathy book", a 16 minute video, $25 bucks, and one The Power of Your Mind magic review. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

EFFECT
Simply: You read the spectator's mind. More specifically, they open to any page in a little booklet you hand them. They read off all of the items (in any order) on the page, and you'll be able to tell them which item(s) on the page have a green circle (more like square) drawn around them. Take a look at the image below for a sample of one of the pages in the book.

METHOD
Simply: The spectator unknowingly codes the information to you. They could take the book home and spend months studying it, and would never find the secret. The book is fully examinable, and they can turn to any page. As long as they read all of the playing cards to you, you'll know which one is "circled." As long as they read off the ESP symbols on the page, you'll know which one is "circled."

As long as the read off all of the images on the page, you'll know which image is "circled." There is one caveat, however. In a couple of instances it is possible for the spectator to inadvertently mis-cue you if they say the name of an object incorrectly. Maybe to them it looks like a stick, but it's actually a branch, for example.

By the way, neither stick, nor branch are (as far as I noticed) objects in the book, but this is the type of thing that can happen in one or two cases. That said, if you know the two cases (super easy), then you'll recognize when they mis-cue you. Other than that, pretty small, caveat, the method is solid. To be able to know which picture is circled, there's no thinking involved at all.

To know which playing card is circle, requires almost no thinking, and to know the circled ESP card requires a little bit of thinking. None of this is taxing, and the overall method is simply: pay attention to what they're saying to you. Easy Peasey. Lemon Squeezy.

PRODUCT QUALITY
The booklet is well produced, and looks like the kind of booklet you might find at the checkout counter in your grocery store next to the little horoscope, and astrology booklets, etc. If someone found it, they'd have no idea it's a magic trick. It looks like and claims to be a book for testing your own ESP abilities with a friend.

It all feels very much like a real object that exists in the non-magical world. Some of the images are a little clip-art-y. But if you don't mind the images shown in the above example, then you won't have an issue with the rest of the booklet. The video instructions are great. Simple, well shot, lit, mic'd, etc. They clearly explain exactly how to get the information you need, and he even suggests some presentational ideas. Solid.

AD COPY INTEGRITY
The ad copy is 100% accurate. The one question most of you will, likely, have is regarding the claim that there is no memory work. This is true. There is nothing to memorize at all. There are three simple things that you have to remember, but they use about as much "memory" as things like "remembering" to eat, or "remembering" to shower regularly, etc. It's not a memory taxing thing. It's a remember this one silly simple little thing.

FINAL THOUGHTS
EFFECT:
Decent.

METHOD:
Easy. Reliable.

PRODUCT QUALITY:
Solid.

AD COPY INTEGRITY:
Accurate.

If you like the idea of handing the book to someone, letting them open the page and name the things on the page, and then you are able to immediately tell them the circled thing, then you'll be happy with your purchase. Watch the trailer. If you like the idea, you'll like what you get.

When reviewing a product, if the method is reliable, the production quality of the prop is good, and you actually get exactly what they say you'll get, it's hard not to give the product a good rating. There's not much, if anything, to "ding." It all comes down to if you like the effect or not. Personally I find the effect to be a little bit weak, but that's opinion, not fact.

FINAL VERDICT:
4.5 stars with a Stone Status of gem.
