This is Martial Power! – internal martial arts

Описание к видео This is Martial Power! – internal martial arts

John-Pierre is an advanced practitioner of the Wu Dao Gong system. I, Brett Wagland, am holding the pad. You can see he is demonstrating his punching and chopping power. However, what you might not see is the power that his punch and the chop is penetrating through the pad; it is not just a pushing force. The chop would probably dislocate your shoulder if you weren’t trained in absorbing the force.

The delivery of such power is very natural. Also, John-Pierre is moving, not just standing there. This is the result of correct training methods which is part of the traditional internal martial arts. We call this whole body power. The old saying, “I strike you with my feet”, refers to the ability to transmit ground force to any part of your body.

The applications I am using here are unrehearsed natural responses to an attack. Notice how I move my whole body out of the way when I have to. This ability is a result of the leg training that we do. Traditionally, they say you need to be qing ling (light and alive like a cat).

The only thing I didn’t do was to try to hurt John-Pierre. Being able to control our power is also an important aspect of our training. When you have power, you can easily hurt people. Ultimately, the Wu Dao Gong training is about developing yourself, not just beating others down. Developing power is a way to refine yourself. If you are learning the correct training methods, you will feel a sense of humility. You will have respect for this kind of knowledge which transforms you on so many levels.

Hope this is enlightening in terms of how we apply our power in our system of training. Learn about this very effective, time-proven way to develop martial power, https://www.canberrakungfuacademy.com...
