Thank you so much to Brad Coy for inviting me into this thoughtful and eye-opening conversation. I’m grateful for the space to talk openly about Deaf culture, blindness, nonverbal communication, and the parts of my story that shaped Raised in Silence.

Brad, and his lovely group members, asked questions that took me deeper than I expected... including the emotion I struggled most to give myself permission to feel while writing the book. That question brought me back. Revisiting those memories wasn’t easy, but it’s part of the story that shaped my voice, my work, and my advocacy.
