Harbor Freight Storm Cat Generator Spark Plug options review

Harbor Freight Storm Cat 700 / 900 watt generator.

This is Model # 69381

I have used three different spark plugs in this generator. Here they are;

Gap was set to 0.030 on all of them.

Factory installed plug was a Torch F7TC green writing on plug.

I initially used a NGK BPR6ES for initial running and several hours of motor break in under load.

I purchased some Torch F6TC plugs. Came in blue box, black writing on plug solid terminal.

Another plug that may be uses is the Champion N9YC. I did not test it...... yet.

I also changed the spark plug boot to an NGK 10k resistor model. You can see it here:

For lubrication performance I only use Mystik lawn and garden two stroke oil mixed in "pure" premium gasoline at 40:1. Pure premium means there is no ethanol in the gasoline. This is best... with our question in small motors.

I live in the upper mid-west so I buy the oil at Fleet Farm.

I also recommend when stopping the generator remove the electrical load and turn off the gasoline valve. Let the motor run dry. Leave no gasoline mix in the carburetor.
