Een bezoekje aan het Nationale Bus museum is zeer de moeite waard. Tijdens een rondleiding ervaar je de verhalen achter de bussen en de vele details. Daarna is er ruim tijd om de bussen te bewonderen.
Het museum beheert een collectie van ongeveer 45 historische autobussen, waarvan een deel in rijvaardige staat is en een ander deel nog wacht op restauratie. Dit materieel dateert van de jaren dertig tot de jaren tachtig van de twintigste eeuw en is afkomstig van (voor het overgrote deel verdwenen) bedrijven als DAM, ESA, FRAM, GADO, GDS, GVB Groningen, Harmanni, LAB, Marnedienst, Nefkens, NTM, NWH, OAD, Pieper, ZWH e.a. Een bijzonder exemplaar is de Volvo / Berkhof gevangenenbus, die in gebruik is geweest bij het gevangeniswezen in Nederland. Naast bussen beschikt het museum ook over attributen van het openbaar vervoer uit de noordelijke provincies, een witkar uit Amsterdam en een archief met documentatie, o.a. van het vroegere Kromhout, producent van autobussen en vrachtauto's.
De openingstijden zijn op de woensdag-, zaterdag- en zondagmiddag van 13.00 tot 17.00 uur.

A visit to the National Coach Museum in Hoogezand, Holland, is well worth it. During a tour you experience the stories behind the buses and the many details. After that there is enough time to see the buses.
The museum manages a collection of about 45 historic buses, part of which is in running condition and another part still awaits restoration. This material dates from the thirties to the eighties of the twentieth century and comes from (gone for the most part) companies such as DAM, ESA, FRAM, GADO, GDS, CFP Groningen, Harm Anni, LAB, Marne Department, Nefkens, NTM , NWH, OAD, Pieper, ZWH etc. A particular example is the Volvo / Berkhof prisoner bus, which has been in use in the prison system in the Netherlands. Besides buses, the museum also has attributes of public transport from the northern provinces, a witkar from Amsterdam and an archive of documentation, inter alia, the former Kromhout, producer of buses and trucks.
Opening hours are on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 13.00 to 17.00.
