*Classic 90's Hip Hop Soul / R&B*

Miss Jones, a popular radio host formerly on Hot 97 and now power 99 in Philadelphia, started her career in the industry as a hip-hop soul singer in the early-to mid 90's... this track was supposed to be on her first album which, due to label troubles, was never released.

The Miss Jones, aka Jonesy, story began in the 90's after she graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in music.

After a chance meeting with legendary rapper, Doug E. Fresh, Miss Jones was immediately signed to Motown Records where she released her debut album, "The Other Woman." The albums' success garnered platinum selling collaborations such as the hits "Sugar Hill" with rapper AZ and "Punish Me" with Big Pun.

While promoting the album, Jonesy was invited to try her hand at radio. Not long after that, the multi-talented recording artist traded in her singing microphone for a radio microphone! Jonesy, as fans refer to her, had officially been bitten by the radio bug!

Soon after, Jonesy became part of New York's Hot 97's morning team, where they ranked #1 consistently over the course of 5 years. As a result of Jonesy's strong female presence and opinionated voice, Jonesy was invited to appear in two independent films with Law & Order actor, Ice T, as well as MTV's "Making the Band" and VH1's "The White Rapper Show"...
In each show Jonesy's job was to assist in the elimination process of rapper/singer wannabees. Jonesy's "Call it as I see it" attitude made her an instant hit on both shows. Jonesy made such a lasting impression that the producers later offered her a holding deal with VH1 to create and deliver her own reality show. The opportunity was great but, the timing was off since Jonesy and her husband had just received news that the only thing they would be delivering was their second child, later that year.

Not one to ever wait it out, Jonesy took that down time to pen her memoirs and soon thereafter released the Essence's best-selling autobiography, "Have You Met Miss Jones?" The Random House published book was met with great reviews and remained in the Top Ten of Amazon's bestsellers list. The buzz received from the book, along with Jones' prior radio success caught the ear of Radio One's big wigs and Jonesy was asked to become the first African-American women to host morning radio in Philadelphia. While there, Jonesy was honored with The Key To The City by then Mayor John Street for her community involvement. She organized several clothing and toy drives and even teamed up with local businesses throughout the holidays to serve and assist the less fortunate families in the Philadelphia area.
