Team Legend 4 chairs turn contestants Caleb Sasser, Kaylee Shimizu and Mara Justine paired up in the knockout round, who delivered soulful renditions of “Jealous” by Nick Jonas, “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin and “Without You” by Harry Nilsson, respectively.

Shimizu’s unreal stunning vocal chops earned the 17-year-old singer a swift Knockouts victory. Shimizu ultimately emerged victorious, with Legend complementing her “one of the most gifted vocalists I’ve ever been around...She’s 17 years old; she can do so many amazing things with her voice — she has to stay on the show.”

But Shimizu’s teammate Justine struck the right chord with coaches Stefani and Horan, blowing away both coaches with her stunning beautiful voice who hit their steal buttons for a chance to work with the impressive New Jersey vocalist.

while Horan admitted that he’d “always been a huge fan” of her “emotive" stage presence and unbelievable vocal cord.

That was a hard sales pitch to beat but Horan was firmed to try. “Mara, [from] day one — maybe apart from one other, I’d say [you were] my favorite Audition. I’ll never forget it, and John will tell you, I hounded him with text messages going, ‘I’m gonna get you back for this!’…When I think of who’s great on The Voice this season, you’re the first one that comes to mind. I’m telling — you’ve got something serious about you.”

John Legen had also enough praise for Mara Justine, even though he chooses Shimizu as the winner of the knockout, "That was so good, I think it’s the best performance you’ve done on the show so far,” he admitted. “…You really do feel like you have a point of view as an Artist, and it’s very compelling.”
