February 5, 2020 -- US Senator and former Republican Presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, announces on the US Senate floor that he'll vote to remove President Trump from office when the vote is taken later in the day.

Romney says he knows that his vote will not likely result in the President being removed from office, but argued he felt the President was guilty of a "Flagrant abuse of power" when he sought to have the Ukrainian government investigate the possibility of the Bidens having been involved in corrupt business practices in Ukraine.

Romney is in his first term as a U.S. Senator. His positions against President Trump have already caused him major political damage in Utah, where a state lawmakers wants a vote to remove Romney from office.

Romney and Trump have long had a damaged relationship, with Trump opting to not select Romney as his Secretary of State after having interviewed him for the job. The President also said
