Previously, the party explored the southern part of the Gallopolis region and most of the city of Gallopolis. Now, they will finish exploring the city and then enter the palace.
A wardrobe in the church contains the Traveller's Hood accessory. In the southwest corner of the city, a chest contains a Mini Medal.
To the north, the party enters the Sultan's Palace. I find the layout disappointingly simple for a Dragon Quest palace. Definitely nothing like Argonia or even Ascantha in DQ8. The locals speak of a certain Darkspawn. We'll have to be on the lookout for that nefarious character. ;-)
In the northwest room on the first floor, the royal bedchamber, a chest contains Concrete Earrings. These cut down on earth damage.
Upstairs, the party finds the Sultan pacing in front of his throne. The man is too busy to see them. Then, Prince Faris makes an impressive entrance. When he is about to leave the throne room, the prince asks the party their business. He tells them to meet him in his chambers.
Behind the Sultan's throne, a chest contains 1,500 gold!
The party meets Prince Faris in his bedchamber. The prince will consider their request if they will help him out. They must meet him at the circus after dark. If it is not already nighttime, you may wish to rest until night. Not dusk, night.
The party meets Prince Faris outside the circus tent. As the excellent entertainer Sylvando begins his act, Prince Faris outlines his hard-to-believe request. Fortunately, Prince Faris does arrange rooms for the party in the inn.
At the stables, the party visits Prince Faris in the Royal Dressing Room. Davilas gets changed and then rides Faris's horse to the Racetrack.
The Sand National gets underway with all due pomp and ceremony. It turnsout Sylvando is a last-minute replacement for one of the racers. After the start, the racing begins. Hold R2 to dash, and press Square to drift when you need to turn. Be sure to go through the green circles for stamina when necessary.
More events take place after the race. Prince Faris certainly seems unsteady on the horse. Then, in the Royal Dressing Room, Sylvando bursts in! In the midst of this scene, Faris is summoned to the throne room. Sylvando believes that he and Davilas may share the stage again soon. Let's hope so.
After this, the player earns the trophy "Out-Stand-In" for helping Prince Faris out of his pickle and running a good race.
Next time, the party will go up to the throne room and hopefully get the Rainbough from Prince Faris.
Thanks for watching!
