Residents of Cinderella Park in Pietermaritzburg claim their prolonged electricity crisis, now nearing six months, is being used as a political tool.

They claim their councillor is settling scores by refusing to intervene, and that they have been advised to turn to the MK Party for assistance.

The power outage has had devastating consequences, from homes destroyed by fires sparked by candles, to vulnerable residents who are unable to refrigerate medication.
