Описание к видео The Posture of Prayer - Luke 18:9-14 (1.26.20) - Dr. Jordan N. Rogers

Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching on prayer in this sermon from Luke 18:9-14 entitled, "The Posture of Prayer."

With God, the prideful are rejected, but the humble are accepted.

While this truth is certainly applicable in every manner of speaking, it is specifically applied to the task of prayer in Luke 18:9-14. In this passage of Scripture, our Lord and Savior teaches a contrasting parable, where a religious man (a Pharisee) and an irreligious man (a tax collector) both stand before the Lord in prayer. Surprisingly, it was not the religious man whom God accepted, as he was trusting in himself and looking on others with contempt. The tax collector was accepted, as his prayer demonstrated a humility before God, a brokenness for his sin, and a recognition of his need for mercy. So also, if we are to be received by God when we pray, these descriptions must be true of us as well.

The following is a sermon from Luke 18:9-14 and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.
