Zebrahead suddenly found themselves searching for a new vocalist, which they found in Adrian Estrella. In a short amount of time, they released three EPs and have been touring extensively with their new singer. Ahead of their show at Dynamo in Eindhoven, we spoke with Ali Tabatabaee, frontman and rapper of Zebrahead since the early days.

Ali talks about balancing an extensive touring schedule with releasing new music, and why Zebrahead chose to release three EPs over the past few years instead of working on a full-length album. He explains how writing fewer songs at a time influences the focus and themes of their music, and shares some of the most unexpected sources of inspiration behind certain tracks.

We also discuss Zebrahead’s extensive discography and how the band decides which songs make it onto the setlist, including Ali’s personal favorite songs to play live. Additionally, he reflects on returning to The Netherlands regularly, shares some of his favorite memories from past visits, and talks about the difference between playing festivals and headline shows.

To wrap things up, Ali answers questions from fellow musicians and shares what makes a show truly special or memorable for him as a performer.
