In this short video I explain a new(?) Hi-Fi Rush trick that almost breaks the game.

Typically at the end of an attack string we need to decide between a beat hit or a jam combo. As the video shows, if you can get used to a very precise and unintuitive timing, you can actually get both at the same time.

If you do it correctly you get both increased damage and a lower battery cost. Specific chips can make it even more effective.

Is it a glitch or a hidden mechanic? Who's to say. (Probably a glitch, but I'm going to continue using it).
