Summary of this tutorial:

Step 1 - From a WordPress page or post you will see at the bottom the comments. We want to disable and turn off these comments.

Step 2 - At the top in the admin area you will see edit page. Click this.

Step 3 - At the top right hand of the screen you will see screen options. Click this.

Step 4 - You will see discussion at the top of the page. We want to make sure this is checked.

Step 5 - Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see discussion and then allow comments. We want to uncheck allow comments to turn them off.

Step 6 - Go and click update and then click preview changes to see the disabled comments.

Faster way to turn off comments: Go to the WordPress dashboard and hover on pages and click all pages. Go to the post or page you want to remove comments for and you will see quick edit. Click this. Over towards the right of the screen you will see allow comments checked. De-select it and hit update.

Fast way to edit posts or pages in bulk: Go to WordPress dashboard and hover over pages and click all pages. You can select all pages or posts or select which ones you want to turn off the comments for. At the top where you see bulk actions you want to select that and then click edit on the dropdown. Hit apply and hit update.
